Goat Therapy
Goats have a way of meeting people exactly where they are, without pretense or expectation - as if they can sense the quiet places inside us that words don’t always reach. Being with them in nature invites a kind of softening: the slowing of breath, the loosening of guardedness, the feeling of being seen without being evaluated.Their steady presence, their curiosity, their groundedness in their own bodies can help us reconnect with parts of ourselves that feel forgotten or protected.
Art Therapy
Pottery
Pottery mirrors the work women do in their inner lives - a slow, deliberate shaping of identity, desire, boundaries, and truth. It asks us to meet the clay as it is, to stay present with what feels messy or uncertain, and to trust the strength that emerges.
Just as clay carries every imprint, women carry the marks of their lived experience - grief, desire, exhaustion, resilience, anger, softness, and the countless ways they’ve had to remake themselves. And the kiln, with all its heat and risk, mirrors the courage it takes to be vulnerable. Entering that fire is never passive; it’s an act of strength, a choice to let pressure transform rather than destroy. In therapy, we honor that same brave process: the willingness to be seen, to soften, to risk change, and to emerge more grounded, more whole, and more fully aligned with who you are becoming.
Andraya Hayward's practice
My specialties include grief, anxiety, depression, burnout, eating disorders, fellow health clinicians, and end‑of‑life care. My practice is for women — including cis women, trans women, and AFAB non‑binary people who feel aligned with women’s spaces.
My ApproachI blend feminist psychotherapy with animal‑assisted work and art therapy practices. The approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative, inviting participants into healing spaces rooted in nature, creativity, and authentic connection. Because traditional talk therapy can feel overly familiar for some, art therapy and animal‑assisted therapy are offered as alternative pathways for insight and renewal. These experiential modalities help participants reconnect with themselves in ways that feel restorative, and many are surprised by how meaningful and genuinely transformative animal‑assisted therapy can be.Insurance: I am in-network with most plans carried under Moda, Regence (Blue Cross/Blue Shield), Optum, United, Providence, Aetna, and OHP Open Card. I can provide Super Bills for other insurance carriers with out of network benefits.
Out-of-Pocket: I am committed to making mental health support accessible to women. Priority for pro bono or sliding scale is given to those without insurance and spaces are limited. My sustainability rate is $185 per hour.
